Road Warriors and the Disquiet

I am traveling a lot these days. It’s been a while since I lived out of a suitcase. I had forgotten how traveling accentuates what is important in my life. I feel the pang of missing my family. I sense a deeper appreciation for things like living in the country, socializing with friends, playing with my dog and being in the outdoors. Missing them tells me how important they are. I don’t take them for granted when I am sitting on a packed plane, tossing and turning in a stuffy hotel room or dining alone.
As I was moving through the San Francisco airport last week, I saw an ad for a recordable DDR. It caught my eye with the sentences:
You miss your kids
You miss your wife
You don’t have to miss your favorite TV shows.
Catchy. It got me thinking about the Disquiet. I wonder what the impact of being on the road with your Disquiet might be? What gets stirred up with the heightened sense of missing and longing? What new perspective angles in because of being away from home base?
I would like to explore this - leave your comments, share your stories and let’s look at this together…..
