What this Blog can do
I had a meeting today with my friend, marketing adviser and website developer Dawud Miracle. By the way, he is very talented and a great guy. So if you ever need any help with your business or your website, he is the man. In addition, he is a pioneer in the world of blogging and how to harness it for your business.
Anyway, we discussed how to take advantage of this medium to provide more than just information. In addition to providing information about the Disquiet, I am also planning to provide the following:
1. A place for conversation and dialogue. Using the ability to leave comments, you can ask questions, comment on someone else’s post, share your opinion, disagree, provide your story, etc. In other words, we can have a conversation. In then next few days you will have the ability to get an RSS feed for each individual post so you can track the conversation on your reader. Don’t know what an RSS feed is or how to use it? Check it out here. In the coming weeks you will see a new feature here that will teach visitors how to start and join in the conversations here.
2. Provide listings of online resources. I prowl the web every day looking for quality blogs and websites that provide resources relevant to men working with their Disquiet. At least once a month I will provide a listing of the most recent finds of the best out there. Also, check out my blog list on the sidebar for regular updates. And you can always check out the resources section of my site for articles, books and links.
3. Announcements of new services and programs. Last week, I announced the roll out of several new programs. A free teleclass will be offered on a regular basis that will further explore the Disquiet and give you a chance to learn more about how I work with it. There will also be a “home-study” type course and a ten week teleclass series as well. And of course, the coaching programs that are already available. This is just the beginning! This is the place to learn about program start dates, details and other information. So stay tuned!
4. Ongoing education. I will continue to share tips, strategies and ways to understand the Disquiet. I will also share what I am learning from the ongoing mens’ study and my work with clients.
5. Explore ways to make a difference. As the community of people who know me and experience my work grows, we will begin to explore how working with our Disquiet can lead to work on our personal and collective legacy. We will take on ways to make a difference in the world, connect to issues bigger than us and how we can help ease the world-wide impact of Disquiet. Too many children have lost their dads to the all consuming struggles with their Disquiet. Too many families have been torn apart. Too many workplaces have become dead zones to creativity and innovation. Too many acts of violence and aggression have occurred from men ignoring or trying to suppress their Disquiet.
As I have been building this, I have connected with some amazing people who offer wonderful advise, insight and wisdom that is already making a difference for people. I will find ways to highlight them here in the coming months. Here is a first batch:
Friends: this is also a “pass it forward” - now you can lay out the 5 reasons you blog and highlight 5 great sites to connect to:
Wesley and Greg at LifeTwo
Laura Young at The Dragon Slayer’s Guide to Life
Steve Pavlina at his Personal Development Blog
Alexander at The Chief Happiness Officer
Peter Shepherd at Metamorphosis
Thank you everyone!

Hey Dave. Thanks for mentioning me and linking back.
Anyone reading this - Dave really gets how to help men who are struggling - even the small, unassuming, nagging struggle.

[...] Dave over at the excellent The Disquiet blog has asked me why I blog. And that is a great question. [...]
