I have been receiving a lot of wonderful feedback, emails and comments from women on this blog and at the website. They have a lot to say, ranging from discussing their own Disquiet and it’s similarities and differences to men’s, to how they really see the Disquiet in the men in their lives and want help on how to support them.
This huge and favorable response led me to designing the family support series as part of my coaching programs. This is unique support system to help my client support his family while he is undergoing significant favorable changes in the coaching. You can read more about it here.
I also am going to start posting articles specifically for the women and families supporting the men in their lives who are struggling with their Disquiet.
Please let me know topics you would like me to cover by leaving comments below or sending me an email. Thanks!

OK, so as I continue to spar and dance with my current surge of Disquiet, turning 50; I added some napalm to the fire:
From my good friend Wesley at LifeTwo.com (who I just interviewed here) comes this humbling piece of wisdom [Source: BoomerGirl.com]:
Even people in top shape need to recognize they’re not kids anymore, says Dr. John Morley, chief of geriatrics at St. Louis University School of Medicine. “You cannot be at 50 what you were at 30.”
Wesley wrote: “Fortunately, it’s not all bad news. Middle age adults and seniors are much stronger similarly aged people were three decades ago. Strides in health care and healthy lifestyles have made living past 50 much more active and fun.”
And there is a lot we can do. But what is actually happening to a 50 yr old bod? Dr Morley says plenty:
How does the body age? Here’s a quick summary of major aspects of aging:

I am approaching my 50th birthday. I have been really surprised at how I have been reacting to this. When I turned 49, I remember declaring how I would make this birthday a blow-out celebration and do all kinds of wild, outrageous things to mark the occasion.
I had heady ideas of becoming one of those guys that people are shocked to find out their age. “Dave is….50?…No way”. It’s embarrassing to admit.

Important information about men and depression.

In the February 26 issue of Newsweek, there is an important cover feature on some of the latest findings about the nature of depression and how more men suffer from it than previously thought. The article has some important findings which I will outline here.
I am writing about this here because some of the key points are related to
Men’s Disquiet™. I want to be careful here. I am not saying that someone who is struggling with their Disquiet is clinically depressed. But the studies are now showing that not dealing with lengthy or severe stress can lead to depression.
Men who suffer from prolonged stress can become depressed. Not dealing with one’s Disquiet can be very stressful.

IT’S OFFICIAL: My 100th newsletter subscription happened today!
Amazing! I now have 100 people subscribed to “Time for Change“. These monthly issues go out to people in over 11 countries. The countries that have been identified are as follows (ranked by subscription numbers):
US, Canada, UK, Australia, South Africa, India, Belgium, Malaysia, Mauritius, Zambia. I have been fortunate to have visited every country listed except for Australia and Malaysia. So that is going on my list of things to do before I die!
If you haven’t subscribed yet, there is an entirely different level of information available to you in the newsletter. In each issue, I take on a particular aspect of the Disquiet and explore ways to work with it. I use real life examples from working with my own Disquiet as well as from my work with others (confidentiality is preserved). Each issue includes action steps you can do to work with that particular topic. These issues are no longer carried on the blog or podcast. You must subscribe to them to access the material. To subscribe, you can sign up on any sidebar or click here.
Included in the subscription is a free copy of the report from the ongoing study about the Disquiet. I am interviewing men from all over the world about their experience with their own Disquiet. The report is updated periodically as I amass more interviews and adjust the statistics.
Thanks to all my subscribers. I take your readership very seriously. I am committed to bringing you my personal best in helping you engage your Disquiet.
P.S. By the time I finished this article, 6 more folks signed up. 106. This is great!

In this episode I talk about a recent experience where some of my own Disquiet showed up. It happened when I went to a surprise 50th Birthday celebration for a friend from college that I had not seen in 13 years.
I also discuss a great new book out by Thomas Moore, “The Dark Nights of the Soul, a Guide to Finding Your Way Thorough Life’s Ordeals“. This was based on an earlier blog post . You can read more about it as well as order the book from there if you like.
Please leave me your reactions, ask questions or share your perspective in the comments section. Thanks!
