Yeah - you are right Ellen! The intra personal line is critical in this work. I spend a lot of time and effort helping my clients build this capacity in the coaching.

Dave you are really getting at both our choices and our chanllenges in the intrapersonal domain of the human brain. How refreshing - and I love the terms you use to inspire action! Thanks!

Dave, thanks for putting this out. Camille, thanks for sharing it. It is heartfelt, honest and full of integrity. I think this is crucial!

It is lovely, Camille, that you could identify your pains, hopes and wishes while taking responsibility for yourself, and that you had and have the courage to deepen the link between your heart and your dad's.

Your respect for yourself and for him shine through.
This is inspirational.

Bless you.

Dave,

I'm honoured that this story has moved you, and may move others. It affirms that a chain of goodness can occur, that started with a single act of genuine courage (somewhere long before I came to adopt it) to step out of the expected and known patterns of behaviour, into our real selves, and continues to ripple on through time, affecting anyone it touches. I'm so glad, and relieved that I am not the island I once thought I was. By your affirmation, I am grateful.
Thank you so much,
Camille

P.S. Camille wrote this about her dad when he read the letter above: My father cried when he read this letter. I'd never seen my father cry. He hugged me for a long time. He'd never done that either. Afterwards, he folded the letter up, put it in his breast pocket and said "I think I'll keep that." We never talked about it again, but he calls me more often now. He wants to know what I'm doing, to take an interest in my work. He loves me."

Thanks Camille for this - may it serve dads out there struggling with their Disquiet.
